The Madwoman in the Attic.
Bertha Rochester of Jane Eyre, my all-time favourite book. This character fascinates me! Every time I read this book, I often find myself wondering if she really is mentally ill or just a woman oppressed by society. That’s why I wanted to show her as enraged and frustrated instead of vulnerable and confused as most artists portray her.
